Want to find out more about the Together In One Voice event? The answers to some of your questions can be found below.
To nominate your street to take part in Together In One Voice please complete this form and be aware:
- You need to nominate your street by the deadline of Monday 18th May
- You must live in a district of Greater Manchester (Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Rochdale, Salford and Wigan)
- You and your household must adhere to social distancing guidelines
If successful, you will then be contacted by May 22nd to arrange your participation.
We’ll be singing some well-known Manchester anthems and some uplifting ballads. The full songs list will be available week commencing 25th May but the online choir rehearsals will start to give you a clue.
All of the links to rehearsals, YouTube Live, forms etc can be found on this website.
You don’t have to be able to sing to join in or join the rehearsals. If you do want to rehearse you can find links to the rehearsals here.
We would recommend using two separate devices if you have them (for example playing the YouTube Live event on a laptop and recording yourself on a mobile phone).
Sure! Don’t forget to hashtag #TogetherInOneVoice and tag us in your post!
Absolutely – as long as you’re maintaining social distancing and sticking to the government guidelines you can join in from your doorstep, window or living room!
You can join in separately and tag the name of your group when you send us your videos, so we know where you’re from.
We ask that you practise social distancing at all times. You can join in the way you would with clapping for carers. You may need to find out from your neighbour in advance if they will be participating and if this if so work out a safe way between you.
As long as you’re maintaining social distancing and sticking to the government guidelines you can join in from your doorstep, window or living room.
It depends on how close your households are but we think that one speaker on every other doorstep would be OK. Using YouTube Live means that the songs will play at the same time for everyone, even if you join a bit late.
From 28th May you’ll be able to upload your videos from the togethermcr.com website. You’ll have until 09.00am on 29th May to do this, so we’ve got time to edit the footage into a record of this Greater Manchester moment which will be broadcast on-line on Sunday 31st May.
We’re anticipating a high volume of videos being submitted, and unfortunately this means we might not be able to use them all for the broadcast on 31st May.
Any videos or audio clips submitted to MIF and/or the project partners may be featured (in full or in part) in the Together In One Voice project. This may include your video / audio being included:
- In the 31st May broadcast documenting the event, and in any subsequent edits of this broadcast content
- On MIF’s website and platforms and any project partner websites or platforms
- In a range of press and publicity materials to promote Together In One Voice and/or the work of MIF and the project partners (this includes supplying to local, national and international media, adverts, print and online, digital usages such as social media channels and website)
By submitting your videos or audio clips you give MIF and the project partners your permission to use your videos or audio clips for the above purposes.
We will aim to credit all groups / streets involved if their clip is used and they provide all the information required.
Yes of course! You can help promote the event on social media, attend the online rehearsals and join in with the event on 28th May by singing along in your house wherever you are. On 31st May we’ll be releasing a specially made video from all the footage in Greater Manchester for everyone to enjoy, no matter where they are.
